Like most of the Southern Californian Costal communities, Carlsbad is blessed with cool nightly breezes.  As such, we enjoy nightly outdoor activities and healthy sleeping with our windows open.  We are proud to say, the lack of air conditioning needed to support our lifestyle is not contributing to the depletion of the Ozone layer.

 One other factor that will continue to improve Carlsbad's quality of life is California Assembly Bill (AB) 32.  AB 32 mandates cities must reduce their greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2020.  Carlsbad has already stated it will be compliant with the AB 32 state law.
