WHAT WE ARE NOT BEING TOLD

OUR UNSAFE FUTURE - PART 1

FOX News interview from 2011 - a lot of talk about profits, but to date still no talk about the health and safety of his constituents.

A Boeing 737-800 taking off from Santos Dunont, Brazil's 2nd largest airport.  Its runway is only 4,341 ft. or 559 ft. shorter than today's McClellen-Palomar Airport runway.

OUR UNSAFE FUTURE - PART 2

OUR FUTURE - five (5) years after the runway expansion Both McClellan-Palomar and John Wayne have single runways

and has 4,900 ft long runway.  In

2014, London City served 3.6 million passengers.

After the approved  runway extension, CRQ's will be 5,697 ft.

More on London City Airport

Air traffic controllers have to deal with over 38 flights per hour.

Noise control is mandatory and operations are restricted to 06:30 to 22:30 Monday to Friday, 06:30 to 13:00 on Saturdays and 12:30 to 22:30 on Sundays.

In 2014, CRQ averaged 30 flight per hour for a 13 hour window.

Now think about the additional noise and pollution from the 14 (70 seat) commercial jet flights (per hour) needed to support the projected the County's 3,270,633 additional passengers.

Contrary to the wishes of the voters in the communities around CRQ, San Diego County refuses to implement mandatory noise restrictions and curfews.

 WHY?

It's not the County's fault!  It's Congresses!

In 1990, Congress passed the Runway Capacity Act and made it illegal for any airport that did not already have curfews in place to be able to impose curfews period.
